Welcome to the challenge administration page! This page is your one-stop-shop for all things related to administering the Balanced Man Program as a challenge coordinator or Vice President of Member Development.
If this is your first time creating a challenge in the BMP App, follow the simple instructions below. If your challenges are already created and you're ready to deploy previously created challenges to eligible members, skip ahead to Step 3 to deploy challenges now.
Each Balanced Man Program challenge consists of meetings and activities.
"Activities" are opportunities for your brothers to continue investing in themselves, in an individual or group setting. These are usually done at a member's own pace and can fall under all five areas of development.
The first step in creating your Balanced Man Program challenge is to create the activities that your challenge participants will be responsible for completing at their own pace. Click the button below to view sample activities or other activities that have already been created and create your own!
"Meetings" are in-person or virtual opportunities for brothers in the same challenge to come together (recommended weekly or biweekly) to discuss a certain topic, such as the history of the fraternity or an alumni professional networking panel. These are typically done together as a group and facilitated by a content expert, such as a knowledgeable alumnus or university faculty/staff member.
Now that you have the activities created, it's time to plan out your meeting schedule for the duration of the challenge. Click the button below to view sample meetings or other meetings that have already been created and create your own!
Everyone has to start somewhere, so rather than creating the challenge completely from scratch, the next step is to "clone" previously created challenges and begin adding the content you created.
We've made it easy with our premade template challenges (designated with a green spreadsheet icon) by prepopulating desired outcomes, participant expectations, and a recommended number of optional activities for each development area. You can start with one of the original templates or build onto one that has been previously created by your chapter.
You're almost there – you're ready to deploy your challenge to eligible challenge participants! The most recently edited challenges are listed below. Click on the one you created and get ready to deploy. When you get to the next screen, you'll be ready to set a "start date", assign the appropriate coordinators and Vice President of Member Development, and select which members you want to deploy your newly created challenge to.
If you want to deploy older challenges, you can click here to view the entire challenge database.
Depending on the number of participants in your challenge, it may take the system a few minutes to properly deploy each brother's challenge. Be patient – your challenge is almost on its way to the palms of your members' hands!
Other Administrative Actions
Once challenges have been deployed, you'll start seeing members submit activities for your review. As the challenge coordinator, your responsibility is to review each activity for proper completion and "approve" or "deny" with comments to the challenge participant. You can view all activity submissions for your respective challenge by clicking the link below.
Whether you need to reschedule a meeting or change the location, you can edit previously deployed meetings for your respective challenges here. All challenge participants who should be attending this meeting will receive an alert in their BMP App letting them know of the change in plans.
Every now and then, it might be helpful to clean up the list of previously used challenges as you may begin developing a long list of outdated content. Fear not – those challenges don't disappear forever. If you "archive" a challenge and ever want to restore its contents, you can do so by following the link to view archived challenges below.
