Chapter Sites

Chapter Sites are individual websites tailored to each SigEp chapter. They are built on the popular blogging platform, WordPress, and are customizable by your chapter. The theme is modeled after the Official SigEp website at www.sigep.org and ensures visual consistency, no matter which chapter website you view.

These websites are immediately available for chapters to use and customize at no additional cost. They will host all the essential functions which your chapter needs to reach various audiences, including potential new members, parents, alumni, volunteers and university partners. When people visit your chapter site, they will be greeted with a pleasant user experience, an on-brand interface and useful tools to interact with your chapter.

Chapter Sites are built to help your chapter with 3 core functions: recruitment, outreach, and fundraising.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did we choose to pursue this project?
We’ve seen that most chapters reinvent their website every few years, creating a lot of unnecessary work for chapter officers. Chapters use a number of different services and usually pay both initial setup and ongoing fees to host their site. Third-party platforms often don’t offer features that are important to members or integrated with SigEp like event calendars, recruitment tools, program registration, membership management, bill-pay, etc. This also means alumni often have a separate site or no place at all to get updates on their chapter. The chapter sites initiative provides a solution to our chapters that not only fulfills the needs of their current website, but provides additional tools and resources that add value to the experience.

What exactly are Chapter Sites?
We’ve solicited feedback from a broad cross-section of undergraduates and volunteers to understand what they need and would like to be able to do online. Through those conversations, we have worked to develop a product that is a one-stop shop for all your SigEp needs. It provides all the tools and resources our chapters need in a beautiful and centralized format.

How much is this service going to cost our chapter?
One of the key complaints from undergraduates was the cost of other website tools for the limited value they provide. We are able to provide chapter sites to our chapters at no cost thanks to the generosity of the 2017 Hoop of Steel Society members.

Why isn't  ______ working on my site?
Chapter sites are constantly being updated to implement the feedback our chapters provide. If you have a problem, you can reach out to support@sigep.net.

Why can’t I change the picture on a protected page?
The protected pages on Chapter Sites are meant to educate visitors on SigEp as a national organization. This is a great opportunity for people to see the diversity of our chapters across the country and show our national impact.

Why can’t I change the logo on the homepage?
The SigEp logo represents each of our chapters as a member of the national organization. Consistent branding helps people instantly associate our chapters with the national organization.

Why is the site title my University name, not my chapter designation?
Chapter designations make it hard for outside audiences to identify who you are. Using the university name helps show the community you are a part of and limits some confusion.

Can I change the giving tiles on the home page or remove them?
The only funds that can be connected to the giving tiles on your chapter website are funds that are held and managed by the SigEp Educational Foundation. If you wish to change the default funds that are displayed, please contact support@sigep.net to discuss your fundraising needs.

How are the stats on the homepage calculated?
The stats are populated by our chapter database. The membership number is a real-time representation of your chapter's roster in mySigEp, GPA is reported by chapter executive boards on the Academic Dashboard in mySigEp, and the national awards are updated by our headquarters staff whenever your chapter receives an award.

Where do the submissions from the various forms go?
Submissions from the Balanced Man Scholarship, Membership Interest Form and Referral Form go into your mySigEp portal. Visit the BMS Management Tool or Recruitment Tool in mySigEp to see the leads that have come in via these forms. Volunteer Interest Forms go to your respective district governor.

How do we get the money we raise for chapter leadership endowments?
Money raised for our chapter leadership endowments is held by the SigEp Educational Foundation. Disbursements can be requested by your AVC through the AVC Funds Dashboard in mySigEp.
