“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” – John Quincy Adams
Brother Adam Mayer, South Carolina ‘15, lives by these words. He constantly pushes himself to do bigger and better things, striving to lead others along the way. Recently, he was recognized for his diligence.
On April 10, 2014, Mayer was selected among 32,000 students to be inducted into the Hall of Leaders at the University of South Carolina. He was one of 12 students inducted for going above and beyond in their leadership and contributions to the university and greater Columbia community.
He also received the Thomas Moore Craig Leadership Award at the University Awards Days in the presence of the university president, provost and board of trustees. The award is given annually to one junior for exceptional leadership. In order to be considered, a candidate must be inducted into both the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Society and Honor Society – both of which Mayer had achieved.
Mayer credits SigEp for his accomplishments.
“I have become a better man through SigEp. Through our cardinal principles of Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love, I have been able to become more balanced and well-rounded in my Fraternity, my life and my university.”
