On the final day of the 55th Grand Chapter Conclave, SigEp’s undergraduate and alumni delegates elected a new Grand President and five new alumni and undergraduate members of the National Board of Directors.
Newly-elected Grand President Chris Bittman, Colorado ’85, addressed the assembled brothers during Conclave’s closing ceremony.
“You must go back to your chapter and take action personally — and set an example for your brothers and show them that you care about them. That you love them. If your brothers know you love them, if they know you truly care about them, they will run through a brick wall for you.”
After sharing several of his personal heroes, including Past Grand President Phillip A. Cox, Indiana ’84, and Order of the Golden Heart recipient Shawn McKenna, Maine ’77, Bittman exhorted his brothers to show the courage those men displayed throughout their lives. “SigEp needs you to go back to your chapter and be someone’s hero. Because SigEp needs heroes and leaders and champions.”
