On an unseasonably cool summer morning in Houston, 17 SigEp alumni kicked off their Conclave on Thursday with a round of golf at the Westwood Golf Club. The tournament was hosted through the generosity of SigEp volunteer and donor Jay Hurt, Davidson ’88. Longtime Conclave golfer and Past Grand President Mike Williams, Memphis ‘69 was in attendance and presented the trophy to the winning team.
Brothers Greg Barra, Texas ‘03, James Strickland, Texas ‘79, and Kevin McGuire, Michigan Tech ‘83 took first place with a score of 8 under par.
In addition to the winning team, the closest-to-the-pin challenges were won by Ray Clarke, West Virginia, ‘84 and Mike Williams, Memphis ‘69
The Grand Presidents Cup was established in 2017 to honor Past Grand Presidents as well as support volunteers and undergraduate scholarships. To date, the Grand Presidents Cup has raised over $5,000 to support these initiatives.
