The North Carolina Beta Chapter was awarded the Caldwell Cup at the North Carolina State University Greek Awards Ceremony. The chapter won the award 2009-2011, and proudly reclaimed the Cup in late October.
“As a chapter, we’re proud of this accomplishment and can’t wait to use it to our advantage,” says vice president of recruitment Reeves Thompson, ’15. “To be able to say we’re the best of the 22 fraternities on campus is a great recruitment tool.”
Named for former NCSU Chancellor John T. Caldwell, the Caldwell Cup is the highest annual recognition that any IFC chapter receives. To be considered for the award, a chapter must excel in the following areas:
Academics
Athletics
Greek Life standards
Alumni relations
Campus leadership and involvement
Council involvement
Educational programming
Finances
Leadership training
Membership
Risk management
Scholarships
Philanthropy
Homecoming activities
IFC participation

The chapter president, Christopher Macon, ‘15, will accept the Caldwell Cup at the Homecoming football game on November 8th.
“This is one of the best feelings I’ve ever had during my time here,” says Macon. “Knowing our chapter is being recognized for its hard work is so rewarding. We’re performing the best we have in a few years and this is a moral boost to keep us going in the right direction.”
