New Grand President & National Board of Directors Elected

Categories: Conclave Chronicle, Fraternity News

Saturday morning, the final day of the 58th Grand Chapter Conclave, the Grand Chapter chose 13 directors to serve on the National Board of Directors.

Brad Nahrstadt, Monmouth ’89, was elected as Grand President. He was first elected to the National Board in 2015.

Darron Trobetsky, Indiana of Pennsylvania ’94, Scott Carr, California-Santa Barbara ’86, and Mike Duggan, Missouri State ’74, were elected to the National Board of Directors.

After Grand President Nahrstadt’s election was announced at the Alumni Awards Dinner, he shared his belief in the Fraternity experience and its ability to answer many of the issues facing college men today.

“I firmly believe that our solution to the struggles facing young men today is to provide a bigger and better SigEp experience,” stated Nahrstadt. “And that requires an investment—an investment in our chapter experience, in our volunteer experience and in our programming.”

Nahrstadt ended his remarks with an ask of SigEp brothers to grow this experience for more brothers. “I’m asking my undergraduate brothers to invest the time and the effort necessary to win at recruitment. Find all the young men on your campus who need what SigEp has to offer and invite them into this brotherhood,” said Nahrstadt. “For my alumni brothers, I am asking you to go forth from this Conclave and evangelize for Sigma Phi Epsilon. Let all your brothers who do not volunteer, who do not invest in our programs, who have had nothing to do with your home chapter since they passed through the red doors on the way to graduation know that their fraternity needs them now more than ever.”

The 2023-2025 National Board of Directors are:
Grand President Brad Nahrstadt, Monmouth ’89
Grand Secretary Victor K. Wilson, Georgia ’82, Vice President of Student Affairs, University of Georgia
Grand Treasurer Daniel McVeigh, Texas Wesleyan ’90
Darron Trobetsky, Indiana of Pennsylvania ’94
David R. Calderon, Cal Poly-Pomona ’88
Greg A. Pestinger, Kansas State ’86
Michael A. Wolbert, Northwest Missouri ’94
Mike Duggan, Missouri State ’74
Dr. Regina Hyatt, Vice President of Student Affairs, Mississippi State University
Scott Carr, California-Santa Barbara ’86
Student Director Matthew Crabtree, Colorado School of Mines ’25
Student Director Tom Fridrich, Florida ’25
Student Director Blake Gibney, South Dakota State ’25

At the Alumni Awards dinner, outgoing student directors Brady Alexander, Florida ’22, Nathan Cung, Georgia Tech ’22, and Greg Pierson, Missouri ’23, received the Paul B. Slater Award for their service, and Past Grand President Billy Maddalon, North Carolina State ’90, and National Directors Bruce W. Anderson, Texas-Austin ’71, and Charles E. Amato, Sam Houston State ’70, were recognized for their service and leadership with the C. Maynard Turner Award.
