The Georgetown Chapter was recognized by USA Today for hosting its second annual Halloween 5k Against Domestic Violence. The event brought in more than 195 people and raised more than $6,000.
All proceeds will go to Doorways for Women and Families, a local nonprofit that provides shelter and support services to men, women and children in abusive homes.
