The path to peak performance

Categories: Tower Room

By Ben Ford, Arkansas Tech Renaissance

Raise Your Bar: A Strategic Plan for Every SigEp guides the vision for Sigma Phi Epsilon through 2027-28. The Fraternity’s strategic plan is for every SigEp, because every one of us will benefit as we reach our goals, and because every brother has a role to play in our path toward the summit.

The plan calls for our Fraternity, and every one of our undergraduates, alumni, parents and partners, to raise our bar as we pursue an ambitious goal — being the largest and best fraternity on every campus where the SigEp flag is planted.

In Year 2 of the plan, we’re making bold strides toward peak performance. Every layer of the plan builds on itself. We cannot achieve growth without providing member development that builds balanced men. We cannot achieve development and healthy chapter culture without the volunteer support that sustains our chapters for the long haul. And we cannot achieve any of these things without financial investment from alumni and friends who believe in SigEp.

Mission

Building Balanced Men

Vision

We envision a new generation of men who lead with purpose and strong personal values, develop a sound mind and sound body through healthy, disciplined habits, and fulfill their potential through lifelong relationships. We seek to be the largest and best fraternity on every campus, accessible to every young man — because a new generation of SigEp leaders can transform communities and change the world.

Cardinal principles

Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love

Growth

What we do is life-changing and the SigEp experience is more important than ever. Undergraduate men need what SigEp delivers, and it is our responsibility to share that experience with more men than ever before.

Total undergraduate manpower: 12,549

2025 – 2026:
Overall membership growth: 3%
New member growth: 8%

Undergraduate membership by year, as of 3/1 annual membership report:
2022: 10,811
2023: 11,064
2024: 11,807
2025: 12,153
2026: 12,549

SigEp chapter count: 185

Development

Ninety percent of college takes place outside of the classroom. It’s in these fun, unstructured hours that students discover their passions and plan their futures. For SigEps, much of this time is spent with their chapter brothers — it’s where they build close bonds of friendship and become balanced men with a sound mind and a sound body. The Balanced Man Program — the centerpiece of SigEp member development — guides their experience.

New Balanced Man Program pilot (as of 12/31/2025):
105 chapters experiencing the new BMP
BMP pilot chapters are seeing 18% more men stay in the chapter
BMP pilot chapters are growing by 10% more than other chapters

Volunteer support

Behind every great SigEp chapter is a dedicated group of volunteers. Now more than ever, college-aged men need mentorship and coaching. We must provide them that support and empower every volunteer to facilitate a college experience that will lead each of our brothers into extraordinary futures.

3,270 total volunteers mentoring undergraduates and supporting chapters
784 volunteers stepped into new roles in the past 12 months

Core Four Volunteers: Crucial volunteer roles essential to every chapter’s success
158 of 185 chapters have all Core Four volunteer roles filled, with:

175 chapter counselors providing overall mentorship
178 balanced man stewards overseeing the BMP
174 mentors for recruitment supporting growth efforts
174 mentors for communication guiding brand-building and recruitment lead generation

Financial investment

Meeting the acute needs of today’s college men — and reaching SigEp’s goals of being the best and largest fraternity — requires financial investment. We must fully fund the Balanced Man Program, create a culture of philanthropy at every chapter, and grow the strength of SigEp’s Annual Fund and Legacy Society.

2025 giving to local and national funds – $6,811,173

2025 Annual Fund giving – $1,775,011

Contributions in support of our undergraduate experience in calendar year 2025 came from 5,076 generous brothers and friends

On Founders Day of Giving 2025, 3,583 donors gave a record-breaking $1,533,854 in support of the BMP and SigEp’s national leadership programs

For every SigEp

Achieving our goal of becoming the largest and best fraternity isn’t possible without every brother and friend participating.

For every alumnus

As one of SigEp’s 250,000 living alumni, you can be proud of the aspirations of our brotherhood and the impact we’re making on a new generation of young men.

To support our goal of becoming the largest and best fraternity, re-engage with SigEp. Attend alumni events and make connections with SigEps in your area. Ensure you’re staying in touch with everything going on at your chapter and the national Fraternity. If SigEp has made a difference in your life, get involved however you’re able and impact the current generation of undergraduate brothers. If you’re interested in volunteering, visit sigep.org/volunteers.

For every undergraduate

Your SigEp experience, if you take full advantage of it, can define and elevate your college years and set you up for lifelong success. If SigEp is important in your life, share it with the men around you who need our Fraternity.

For every volunteer

You’re the bedrock of SigEp success — for our chapters and for each individual brother you come in contact with. Raise your bar by building great relationships with undergraduates, and help them provide a SigEp experience that is the largest and best on campus. Participate actively in mentorship. Take advantage of the educational opportunities the Fraternity provides for volunteers.

For every donor

Today’s college men are falling behind and struggling — in academic performance, mental health, social connectedness and career preparedness. The societal problems driving this decline are only getting worse, and our communities are in danger of losing a generation of young men to a lack of purpose and undeveloped leadership potential.

Your investment is shaping lives to build a generation of young men who will reverse these worrying trends. With your help, we will further grow the value of the SigEp experience for today’s college students and provide greater access to that experience so our communities benefit from thousands more young men who are prepared to be leaders. You can make a gift to SigEp at sigep.org/give.
