Before the sweltering August heat set in, 28 brothers teed off in the fourth Conclave Grand Presidents Cup Golf Tournament. Golfers set out from the Grand Hyatt in downtown San Antonio to play at TPC San Antonio for a time of fun, brotherhood and friendly competition. Thanks to the generosity of brothers Charlie Amato, Sam Houston State ’70 and Gary Dudley, Sam Houston State ’69 SigEp had access to TPC.
With a winning score of 64, 8 under par, the Texas-Austin team of Jim Strickland ’79, Carter Korb ’24, Jack Summers ’25 and Craig Casselberry ’86 hoisted the trophy at the end of the day.
But they weren’t the day’s only winners. Matt Hillerud, North Dakota ’04 took the closest to the pin on hole 7 and Tom Jelke, Florida International ’90 took the closest to the pin contest on hole 16. Michael Sposato, WPI ’23 finished the day with the longest drive.
Each winner received swag from the SigEp Store, and of course holds bragging rights until 2025!
Congratulations to these winners, and thank you to all our golfers playing in this year’s Grand Presidents Cup.
