The University of North Dakota held their annual Greek Awards Ceremony last month, and the brothers at North Dakota Alpha walked home with the lion’s share of awards. Among these was the notable Excellence in Citizenship Award, given to the chapter who completes the most community service hours.
The brothers in the chapter completed an average of 50 service hours each. One brother, Michael Cerjance ’15, completed over 150 hours while working at a muscular dystrophy summer camp, which aims to provide children with the disease a ‘normal’ camp experience.
“To bring joy to the faces of children when we took them zip-lining and on the lake was something that I will cherish for the rest of my life,” Cerjance said.
Other awards won include:
Highest Fraternity GPA Fall 2013
Highest New Member GPA Fall 2013 (3.17)
Above All-Men’s GPA Spring 2013 (3.195) and Fall 2013 (3.17)
Outstanding Chapter Award
Outstanding Senior Award, given to Brother Christopher Brauckman ’14
Three brothers were also named as finalists for individual awards: Kyle See-Rockers ’14 for Outstanding Chapter President, Brandon Myhre ’14 for Outstanding Senior, and Paul Butler ’18 for Future Greek Leader.
“To receive this award was a special moment in my life,” said Brauckman. “Over the course of my four years, I have continually strived to become a better student, leader, citizen and brother. SigEp has given me added motivation and confidence to continue working hard, always pushing for the best.”
