For the last decade, the American Marketing Association has presented an annual volunteer award. This year, the organization’s board of directors announced the award would be named after Ric Sweeney, Cincinnati Renaissance. Sweeney has been a member of the American Marketing Association since 1996 and has volunteered with the group for nearly 20 years. In April, Sweeney personally presented the first Ric Sweeney Volunteer of the Year Award at AMA’s Converge 2016 Leadership Summit.
Sweeney is an associate professor in the marketing department at the University of Cincinnati’s Lindner College of Business and also serves as faculty fellow and balanced man steward for SigEp’s Cincinnati Chapter. He became a Renaissance brother in 2011. Sweeney was featured in the Journal’s spring 2016 feature story, “The road to the top,” where he weighed in on SigEp’s journey to become the premier student organization.
