We were looking forward to gathering in New Orleans this May to let the good times roll with our Board of Governors family. After careful consideration, it’s best not to hold Board of Governors Weekend in May. Your health was our top priority as we made this decision.
The schedule below is based on our former event dates, but if we are able to postpone, this will give you an accurate idea of what we have planned.
Now through February 29: $550
March 1 - March 31: $600
April 1 - May 3: $650
(All fees are per person)
Our host hotel, The Eliza Jane, is ready to open up its red doors to our valued Board of Governors and guests! Located on famous Magazine Street, the hotel rests just blocks from the French Quarter, Garden District and Riverwalk, and its decor is inspired by Eliza Jane Nicholson, a poet-turned-heiress and first woman publisher of a major metropolitan newspaper — printed where the hotel stands today. Both king and double bedrooms are available for a discounted rate of $245/night, plus tax, for both Friday and Saturday nights. Limited rooms are also available for Thursday arrivals. You will make your room reservation when registering for the program. Interested in a suite at the hotel? Please reach out to Stacy Nicodemus to learn more about availability and rates.
Friday, May 8
8 a.m. — Golf at TPC Louisiana
(additional fee required)
- $245 Green fees & transportation
- $85 Club rental
Come play 18 holes on this award-winning course that stretches over 250 acres of the Mississippi River delta and is home to the PGA Tour’s Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Transportation will be provided for an 8 a.m. tee time, and the course clubhouse will be available for lunch.
3 p.m. — Welcome cocktail reception – The Eliza Jane courtyard
Kickoff the weekend by connecting with brothers, friends, and fraternity and foundation leaders. Join us for drinks in a private courtyard at our host hotel, before venturing out to the French Quarter for dinner on your own.
8 p.m. — “Laissez les bon temps rouler” – Bourbon Vieux
The New Orleans motto is Cajun French for “Let the good times roll!” And that’s just what we’ll do over cocktails, heavy hors d’oeuvres and desserts. Enjoy live music and the largest covered balcony overlooking the revelry of Bourbon Street.
Saturday, May 9
8:30 a.m. — Swamp tour and crawfish boil
(additional fee required)
See the Honey Island Swamp wildlife up close as you explore narrow slews on a private, covered boat. Your captain will share tales about the alligators, raccoons, wild boar, exotic birds and turtles that call the Louisiana bayou home. Enjoy an authentic crawfish boil for lunch in a pavilion, complete with crawfish, sausage, corn, potatoes and non-alcoholic beverages.
Your ticket includes the private swamp boat tour, crawfish boil lunch and transportation.
First, you’ll enjoy brunch at Brennan's, an elegant staple of Creole cuisine in the French Quarter, where brunch is king and the bananas foster dessert was invented. Then the group will travel together to the world-renowned Mardi Gras World on the Mississippi River. There is nothing more “New Orleans” than Mardi Gras, and on this tour, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes, all-access look at how the festival parade floats and attractions have been designed and constructed by artists and craftsmen for the last 75 years.
Ticket includes private brunch at Brennan's, behind-the-scenes tour of Mardi Gras World and mini-coach transportation.
6 p.m. — Cocktails and dinner – House of Blues New Orleans
The weekend culminates with an incredible event, where we will embrace the spirit of New Orleans and enjoy friendships, new and old. At this unique venue, you’ll be welcomed with a cocktail hour in the Voodoo Garden and then move inside for a southern-inspired dinner and program.
