Saturday morning, the final day of the 57th Grand Chapter Conclave, the Grand Chapter elected six alumni and students to serve on the National Board of Directors.

Billy Maddalon, North Carolina State ’90, was elected as Grand President.

Three new student directors were elected: Brady Alexander, Florida ’22; Nathan Cung, Georgia Tech ’22; and Greg Pierson, Missouri ’23.

Mike Wolbert, Northwest Missouri ’94 was elected to the National Board of Directors and Brad Nahrstadt, Monmouth ’89 was re-elected to another term. Victor Wilson, Georgia ’82, was appointed as Grand Secretary.

After Grand President Maddalon’s election was announced at the Alumni Awards Dinner, he shared how much SigEp means to him. He told the story of how joining the North Carolina Beta chapter had a transformative impact on Billy’s life, and from the first day he walked in the door, he knew he had found his family. Grand President Maddalon said, “Because there is so much irrelevance in life, the search for meaning, integrity and true relevance, is timeless and speaks for itself. For all SigEp chapters on all campuses, I want them to embody ‘this fraternity will matter.’

He continued to set a vision for the future. “We encourage each other to be good-bringers, world changers, love givers and hope spreaders. I believe SigEp, at our best, has never mattered more than it does today. At our best we are a family, a community, united by shared values. A way of life based on things of the heart, tempered by balance and brotherhood.”

At the Alumni Awards dinner, outgoing student directors Van Augur, Connecticut ’20, Keaton Dornath, Kansas ’21 and Jake West, Missouri State ’20, received the Paul B. Slater Award for their service, and Past Grand President Tom Jelke, Florida International ’90, was recognized for his service and leadership with the C. Maynard Turner Award.
