Saturday morning, the final day of the 59th Grand Chapter Conclave, the Grand Chapter chose 13 directors to serve on the National Board of Directors.
Dave Calderon, Cal Poly-Pomona ’88, was elected as Grand President. He was first elected to the National Board in 2015.
Dr. Grant Buttram, North Carolina State ’93 and Jay Hurt, Davidson ’88 were elected to the National Board of Directors.
After Grand President Calderon’s election was announced at the Alumni Awards Dinner, he shared his belief in the deep need and renewed relevance of the Fraternity’s member experience. “Young men are asking a lot of deep questions, and I am here to tell you that SigEp is the answer to many of those questions,” he said. “We, as a Fraternity, need to do everything we can to get Sigma Phi Epsilon to the forefront of every college man’s life, because every college man needs us.”
Calderon laid down a challenge of increased pursuit of SigEp’s aspiration to become the largest and best fraternity: “We are growing, but we are not growing fast enough. We need to pick up the pace and reach as many young men as we can as fast as we can. I am extremely confident that we have the right people in place to make our vision of being the biggest and the best a reality.”
