You may remember what it’s like to be a college student considering what life will hold after graduation. As my SigEp brothers and I make plans for our future, I can’t thank the Fraternity enough for how it’s helped us prepare — even during a pandemic — because of the generosity of alumni and friends.
When I signed up for SigEp’s new Career Coaching program, I wasn’t sure how much it could help me. I’m a senior in a five-year program at Illinois Tech and president of our Illinois Beta chapter, and I’m applying for summer internships in aerospace engineering and management. SigEp paired me with an alumnus who works in that field — at a company I was already interested in! He understood exactly what I needed, reviewed my resume, gave me advice specific to the industry, and even helped me articulate my strengths through a mock interview.
Because of SigEp’s Career Coaching program, I feel prepared to represent myself well to future employers and am currently in the second round of interviews for my top internship choice this summer. Thanks to the support of alumni and friends whose contributions have helped fund this program, I’m one of almost 1,000 undergraduates who have already benefited from a career coaching session since the program started late last fall, with more of my brothers signing up every day.
Would you consider making a gift to SigEp so more brothers can experience the unique power of our Fraternity and its alumni network through this program? No other fraternity on campus is providing anything like this, and because of SigEp I know I’ll be well-equipped to succeed once I graduate. I couldn’t be more grateful — or proud — to be a SigEp.
