I was the first member of my family to enroll in college when I came to Morehead State. When I arrived on campus, I didn’t even consider whether I should join a fraternity or not, unlike many of my peers. I was not interested in participating in some organization that claimed to add value to the college experience but actually just legitimized bad behavior. That was just not my style.
What changed my mind? Sigma Phi Epsilon.
Deciding to join this Fraternity my first semester of college is easily the best decision I could have made. SigEp has given me so much more than I have ever imagined was possible from a campus organization.
SigEp has given me:
Confidence. I am more confident in being myself than ever before. I do not allow any circumstances to keep me from letting others see who I truly am.
Career Development. The leadership skills that I’ve gained will lead me to more job opportunities upon graduation.
Family. Gaining a lifelong family is the most important aspect of my SigEp experience. Our SigEp family will continue to be my side, celebrate my successes and will do everything in its power to help me and lift my spirits in time of need.
“This fraternity will be different.” You hear this quote often in SigEp, but it is not just a trite saying. It is a fact.
As someone who came to college with no intention of participating in Greek life, I joined SigEp and saw that this amazing brotherhood is truly different. My SigEp brothers at Morehead State have showed me that this Fraternity is not just another campus organization. It is a lifelong commitment that I certainly will never regret.
SigEp has changed my life by sculpting me from a shy, timid boy into a young man who is now a leader on campus. This is all because of my brothers who have been supporting me in every step I take.
