The executive director of the ACPA — College Student Educators International, Dr. Cindi Love, has been appointed to Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity’s National Board of Directors.
Dr. Love fills the second of two newly established director roles reserved for higher education professionals who understand the importance of the out-of-classroom experience and the holistic development of college students today. As a National Director, Love will bring invaluable expertise to our Fraternity’s National Board as it sets and achieves strategic goals to enhance student safety, healthy relationships, academic success, professional preparedness, diversity and inclusion, communication, and leadership.
She currently serves as ACPA executive director, overseeing an organization that represents over 7,500 members on 1,200 U.S. campuses. ACPA members represent the full spectrum of professionals in student affairs, services and life, including companies and organizations engaged in the campus marketplace. ACPA is the publisher of Beyond Compliance: Addressing Sexual Violence in Higher Education, which calls upon post-secondary institutions to move beyond reactionary, compliance-focused mandates toward innovative and inclusive initiatives to prevent sexual violence.
Her experience spans four decades of leadership in nonprofit and private sectors, including the founding of an INC 500 company that was acquired by the publicly traded Toro Company. Love is a longtime director of the West Texas Rehabilitation Center’s Advocacy Program in Abilene, Texas. An author and Huffington Post blogger, Love holds a bachelor of science in education from Abilene Christian University, a master of arts from Louisiana Tech University and a doctorate in educational administration from Texas Tech University. Love was an inaugural member of the Birthing of Giants program at MIT and earned a certificate in state and local government at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Additionally, Love serves on the State Department’s Religion and Foreign Policy Working Group on Social Justice, as well as the Human Rights Campaign’s Faith and Religion Council. Love was recently honored with the Facilitator Award by Stetson University College of Law for her work in increasing safety on campuses.
Sigma Phi Epsilon is the nation’s largest college fraternity, with more than 15,000 undergraduates on 228 campuses across the United States. Established in 1901, its mission is “Building Balanced Men,” which is achieved through a continuous member development program focused on academic achievement, healthy lifestyle choices and leadership development. The Fraternity currently maintains a 3.18 national GPA.
