As the mentor for finance, you are responsible for supporting the vice president of finance in his role as the chapter’s chief financial officer. He is entrusted with managing the chapter’s budget, collections, expense management and reporting. You should support your mentee in all of these areas, as well as the record-keeping, people skills and project management that make them possible.
As the vice president of finance’s mentor, you will guide him in creating, understanding and acting on his four key deliverables:
- An annual chapter budget
- Monthly financial reports
- Annual tax filings
- An annual financial review
