The Frank J. Ruck Leadership Institute prepares you to lead culture change, reaching beyond your chapter and campus and into your community. Executive-level alumni mentors work with you on how to engage in challenging and meaningful conversations — a skill not often taught on campus. Ruck scholars engage in an interactive program experience that involves small group activities, team-building, large-group sessions, and health & wellness components. The Ruck Leadership Institute was launched in 1999, with a curriculum based on the world-renowned book, The Leadership Challenge, co-authored by Brother Barry Posner, California- Santa Barbara ’70.
The Ruck Leadership Institute has long been SigEp’s landmark leadership program and a sought-after experience for undergraduates to explore and develop personal leadership skills. For more than 25 years, SigEps from around the country have come together to learn from each other and incredibly successful alumni and friends of SigEp.
Ruck Scholars are selected through a competitive application process, and they leave with a better understanding of their leadership styles and a new and better vision for the future.
The 2026 Ruck Leadership Institute will be held from June 17 – 21 at the University of Richmond. Applications for the program will open on mySigEp on December 2nd and will be due by February 23rd.
