Carlson programming will focus on eight executive officers: chapter president, VP of member development, VP of recruitment, chaplain, VP of SigEp Learning Community, VP of communications, VP of finance and VP of programming. Every newly elected officer in these roles should plan to attend. Because the programming is tailored and specific to officers currently in this role, replacements may not be sent in their place if the elected brother cannot attend, except in rare circumstances. Should such a situation arise, please email events@sigep.net.
A track for rising leaders will also be geared towards brothers who hope to hold an executive board position in the future. It will focus on the building blocks of great leadership. This track is perfect for committee chairmen, other non-executive board officers and up-and-coming leaders.
If your AVC is sending a volunteer to a Carlson Leadership Academy near you, consider sending your chapter counselor, mentors for SLC, mentors for recruitment, faculty fellows, and/or Balanced Man stewards. Education will be tailored specifically for these role types with two tracks: The Path to the Buc Cup and Championing the Chapter: Chapter Counselor Training.
Please only register for the Chapter Counselor Training if you are a chapter counselor.
The registration and lodging for all eight executive board officers is fully covered by a combination of the chapter’s fall bill and generous donations to the SigEp Educational Foundation’s Annual Fund. In short, the eight executive board officers will not need to pay anything additional for registration or lodging.
All undergraduates attending the Rising Leaders track are responsible for a $175 registration fee and their own lodging costs.
Thanks to the generosity of donors to the Philip A. Cox Volunteer Institute endowment, the registration fee is available to volunteers at the subsidized rate of $175/person. Volunteers (or their AVCs) are responsible for the $175/person registration fee, which includes all meals on Saturday, program materials, etc.
If your AVC is planning on sending a volunteer to a Carlson Leadership Academy near you, consider only sending your chapter counselor, mentors for SLC, mentors for recruitment, faculty fellows, and/or Balanced Man stewards. Education will be specifically tailored to these role types.
Please note that all volunteers are responsible for their own lodging and travel expenses.
Your chapter has been slated for a specific Carlson (the one closest to you geographically) and you can view that here. If you have a conflict and cannot attend the Carlson for which you are slated, email events@sigep.net to explore your options.
The Fraternity will make your hotel reservation based on the officers registered from your chapter.
- If you send five to eight officers, we will reserve two rooms for you for arrival on Friday and departure on Sunday. The room/tax will be paid for by the Fraternity.
- If you send four or fewer officers, we will reserve one room for you (also for arrival on Friday and departure on Sunday).
