The Fraternity’s strategic plan charts a new vision for Sigma Phi Epsilon. Raise Your Bar is for every SigEp, because every one of us will benefit as we reach our goals, and because each of us has a role to play in our path toward the summit. The plan calls for our Fraternity, and every one of our undergraduates, alumni, parents and partners, to raise our bar as we pursue a shared, ambitious goal — being the largest and best fraternity on every campus where the SigEp flag is planted. It calls for increased financial investment, and unprecedented volunteer support. It challenges us to meet the needs of this and future generations of young men with development opportunities that are essential to success. It demands that we grow and share the SigEp experience with more men than ever before in our history.
What we do is life-changing and the SigEp experience is more important than ever. Undergraduate men need what SigEp delivers, and it is our responsibility to share that experience with more men than ever before.
Across the board, college-aged men are falling behind. We are at a crossroads moment. 90% of the collegiate experience takes place outside of the classroom. We must bring more men inside the walls of our welcoming chapter homes and SigEp Learning Community spaces — where critical support, in-person connection, friendship and brotherhood are alive and well.
Behind every great SigEp chapter is a dedicated group of volunteers. Now more than ever, college-aged men need mentorship and coaching. We must provide them that support and empower every volunteer to facilitate a college experience that will lead each of our brothers into extraordinary futures.
Meeting the acute needs of today’s college men — and reaching SigEp’s goals of being the best and largest fraternity — requires financial investment. We must fully fund the Balanced Man Program, create a culture of philanthropy at every chapter, and grow the strength of SigEp’s Annual Fund and Legacy Society.
Building Balanced Men
Your SigEp experience, if you take full advantage of it, can define and elevate your college years and set you up for lifelong success. With unparalleled opportunities to raise your bar, the Balanced Man Program and SigEp’s leadership and career preparedness events can build you into the balanced man you have the potential to be. And if SigEp is important in your life, share it with the men around you who need our Fraternity. All along the way, your brothers will be at your side, giving you friendships you’ll carry for the rest of your life.
As a volunteer, you’re one of our most valuable resources. You’re the bedrock of SigEp success — for our chapters and for each individual brother you come in contact with. Raise your bar by building great relationships with undergraduates, and help them provide a SigEp experience that is the best and largest on campus. Participate actively in mentorship. Take advantage of the educational opportunities the Fraternity provides for volunteers. They’ll enrich your life and help you make an impact in your role. Along the way, your district governor and the Headquarters staff are here to help — if you need direction, resources or have questions, reach out. Because Volunteer Support is so important, be an advocate for more volunteers at your chapter. Fill your volunteer roles and build a bench of alumni who are willing to help out, formally or informally.
Today’s college men are at a crossroads. They’re falling behind and struggling — in academic performance, mental health, social connectedness and career preparedness. The societal problems driving this decline are only getting worse, and our communities are in danger of losing a generation of young men to a lack of purpose and undeveloped leadership potential. Your investment is shaping lives to build a generation of young men who will reverse these worrying trends.
Thanks to your investment, inside the walls of our welcoming chapter homes and SigEp Learning Community spaces, personal growth, development, in-person connection and meaningful friendship are alive and well. With your help, we will further grow the value of our experience for today’s college students, and provide greater access to that experience so our communities benefit from thousands more young men who are prepared to be leaders.
As one of SigEp’s 250,000 living alumni, you are an example of the Virtue, Diligence and Brotherly Love that characterizes every member of SigEp. Yet today’s young men are at a crossroads, and this generation desperately needs SigEp. College-aged men are falling behind and struggling — in academic performance, mental health, social connectedness and career preparedness. Yet one strong leader can impact the lives of thousands — and SigEp builds leaders, at scale. To support our goal of becoming the largest and best fraternity, re-engage with SigEp. Make sure your contact information is up to date and you’ve claimed your mySigEp account. Attend alumni events and make connections with SigEps in your area. Ensure you’re following SigEp on social media and are staying in touch with everything going on at your chapter and the national Fraternity. If SigEp has made a difference in your life, get involved however you’re able and impact the current generation of undergraduate brothers. You can be proud of the aspirations of our brotherhood and the impact we’re making on a new generation of young men.
SigEp is the best place for a young man to develop and step into his potential. Through our Balanced Man Program, modernized to meet the needs of today’s college men, SigEp provides unparalleled personal development opportunities that will help your son raise his bar during those critical college years. Many say that college is the best four years of your life. A SigEp experience should be the best four years of your son’s life — so far. From his freshman year to his senior experience, SigEp aims to support him through volunteer mentorship. He’ll graduate with friendships and connections he’ll carry with him for the rest of his life.
