Spouse/Guest and Family Programming

While your SigEp may be busy with programming, board meetings or winning the golf tournament, there will also be fun events and activities specifically for spouses, guests and young families.

All events will be hosted or depart from the Marriott Marquis and are great ways for you to meet fellow spouses, guests and children. We’ll also greet you at the Conclave registration desk with a fun gift bag! 

Thursday, July 25

9:00 AM: NASA Space Center trip
Mini-coach pick up in lobby at 9:00 AM
$35 and open to all ages

Space Center Houston is a leading science and space learning center, the official visitor center of NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston and a Smithsonian Affiliate museum. Great entertainment and education for all ages.Ticket includes transportation to NASA's Space Center Houston and admission (+tax/fees) to the museum. Lunch is on your own at the on-site café

10:00 AM: Art Museum trip
Mini-coach pick up in lobby at 10:00 AM
Complimentary and open to all ages

Visit the Houston Museum of Fine Arts in the morning, a historic home over lunch and the Menil Collection in the afternoon. The permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts spans more than 6,000 years of history with approximately 64,000 works from six continents. The Menil Collection houses approximately 17,000 modern paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, photographs and rare books from the private art collection of the founders, John and Dominique de Menil. Jay Hurt, Davidson ’88 will be hosting the group for lunch in his home; the historic Joseph C. Brown House. Jay was recently recognized by Preservation Houston for his work on the restoration of this beautiful home. 

This trip includes admission to the Museum of Fine Arts in the morning, lunch at Brother Hurt's and admission to the Menil Collection in the afternoon. All transportation will also be provided by mini-coach.

Saturday, July 27

2:00 PM: Spouse and Guest Wine Tasting
Complimentary and open to those 21 and olderJoin Certified Sommelier Michael Shef, Southern Methodist ’93 for a wine tasting. Must be 21 and older to attend and participate.
