Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp) national fraternity announced that it has adopted a substance-free policy for all Fraternity facilities throughout its network of 215 chapters at colleges and universities in the United States.
Substance-free Facilities
How a substance-free facility has changed our chapter
Since Nevada Alpha voted as a chapter in May 2017 to make our chapter facility substance-free. We’ve faced adversity in many specific areas, but our chapter has risen to the occasion and we’ve found a new status quo that is better than before.
Why substance-free housing is critical for SigEp
Yesterday, August 4, at Conclave, undergraduates and volunteers voted to remove alcohol from our chapter homes by 2020. This resolution seeks to strengthen the SigEp experience by making the Balanced Man Program and Residential Learning Community, not drinking and substance abuse, the focus of our chapter homes.
