Becoming an RLC

To become a Residential Learning Community, chapters must first complete the application for accreditation:

RLC Application for Re-Accreditation

Successful RLC Applications include:
  • Application demonstrating chapter drive and dedication.
  • Dedicated academic space in the chapter facility.
  • High chapter GPA, 3.0 and higher, or consistently above the all-campus average (ACA).
  • High level of Faculty Fellow engagement.
  • High minimum GPA for membership, above 2.75.
  • Strong letters of recommendation.
  • Substance-free academic common area space.

Designation as a Residential Learning Community remains valid for as long as a chapter meets minimum accreditation requirements, or for five years, at which point re-accreditation is required. For more information, contact Ryan McCavitt, Director of Learning Communities.
